Hey, I'm Nick Steele Lorax
I've been in various aspects of construction and the built environment since 2007, working on projects from custom new home construction starting in the planning and design phase, to remodel projects taking the structure down to studs, adding on second levels and additional rooms, to renovating 100+ year old commercial buildings and barns.

I enjoy working on projects which embody the sentiment of "wise use", using resources sustainably while preserving ecological character. In residential construction this takes lots of forms. For example, choosing rehabilitate an existing structure rather than build on a site which has never had a home on it is a choice to preserve greenspace while also valuing the materials that can still be reused from the previous structure, rather than sending the entire thing to a landfill. Being conscientious of which materials which are least toxic and harmful to the environment while maximizing the longevity and cost efficiency of the structure is another way to use our resources wisely.

Hello there, my name is
Brandie Kruger Lorax.
I'm here to assist in ways that I can. My first introduction to construction was with my sisters helping my parents remodel our home in Joplin. Later, I was introduced to drawing floor plans in my middle school home economics class. And fell in love with creating spaces I imagined myself, my friends, and my family living in one day. I was lucky enough to have further exposure in the computer aided drafting class my junior and senior year of high school through the Franklin Technology program and took a couple of years of CAD engineering at MSSU. At the age of 20 I started a family of my own and left engineering behind. Keeping architecture as a hobby, drawing plans in my free time as I moved through managing a Dairy Queen in Galena Kansas, merchandising women's' clothing at a Macy's in Wauwatosa Wisconsin, and upholstering furniture with my dad at his shop in Galena. I'm happy to find myself immersed once again in home remodels and continuing to improve my upholstery skills as my time fells more like my own. It is much like opening the door to a room filled with all the projects you were saving for some day. That day is today. With Nick I hope to make your next project, our next project.
